St. Francis of Assisi said, "Not to hurt our humble brethren, the animals, is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men."
These are not men. Look at this week's hound and tell us who could be so empty of soul, so bereft of compassion as to do the things these so called men have done. May they reap what they have sown.

Barbie is really sweet, quiet, and affectionate. She has big ears that stand straight up at times. She will approach for pets and pick up toys and take them to her bed. She is skittish around strange sounds and she will jump up and run away from the sound that startles her. She is generally quiet in the home, but she has a burst of energy when her foster family gets home and she will bark and wag her tail. Windy City Sniper Update: Sniper is settling in to her foster home, in Canada of all places. She has a date with the Vet next week for her medical exam, shots, spay and teeth cleaning, and then she'll be looking for a permanent couch.

Sickening. Great post, though. I love the St Francis quote.
